Epistemic Logic and Epistemology, the state of their affairs

Abstract:
Epistemic logic has moved away somewhat from general epistemology. In
this paper, we show that bridges between the two areas still exist,
and that contacts can be extremely close. Examples include: knowledge
and calculus of evidence, scepticism, dynamics of information,
learning and verification, and multi-agent /group perspectives. All
these illustrate my eventual view that knowledge is not to be defined
as some intrinsic feature of propositions, but rather in terms of
their successful functioning in our cognitive activities.
