Abstract

Mind Rules
A philosophical essay on psychological rules and the rules of psychology.
Ingmar Visser

* What exactly does the notion of a rule, that is so frequently used in
psychological explanations, amount to and what is its relation to the
notion of a reflex that was popular in behaviorist psychology until the
forties?
* How are aforementioned rules represented in the different models of
cognition that have prevailed in modern psychology?
* How do the different modes of representation relate to questions of
learning and nativism?
